Warsaw, Indiana

This watercolor captures a quiet spring moment at the Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church in downtown Warsaw, Indiana, where architecture and nature seem to reflect one another. I was drawn to the blooming dogwoods in the courtyard, their bright white blossoms reaching across the church’s richly colored stained glass windows. Within the glass, floral shapes, organic patterns, and luminous colors echo the blossoms outside, creating a visual conversation between what was crafted by human hands and what God creates new each spring. The deep jewel tones of the stained glass provide a dramatic backdrop for the delicate white flowers, while the surrounding brick grounds the scene in the historic character of downtown Warsaw. By focusing closely on this intersection of window and bloom, the painting celebrates a fleeting moment when the beauty inside the church seems to spill outward—and the beauty of the natural world is reflected back within.
