This watercolor focuses on a small fragment of a vintage roadside sign in Cave City, Kentucky. By isolating a single weathered letter and its surrounding neon tubing, I was able to shift attention from the sign’s original purpose to the details of its construction—the peeling paint, rust-stained hardware, and graceful curves of the aging glass.
