Kiddie Kingdom
Kiddie Kingdom
This watercolor captures a close-up fragment of the Kiddie Kingdom sign at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. I was drawn to the playful geometry of the oversized letters, the rows of weathered bulbs, and the bold purple and gold colors that evoke the excitement and nostalgia of a classic amusement park.
Much of my work explores places tied to memory and experience. In this piece, the sign becomes a symbol of childhood wonder, anticipation, and the enduring charm of amusement parks. It is both a portrait of a specific place and a celebration of the visual language that invites us to pause, look closer, and remember the joy of being a kid.
