1883
1883
This watercolor celebrates the quiet history embedded in the architecture of downtown Warsaw, Indiana. The prominent 1883 marking anchors the painting in another era, while the weathered brick, ornate details, and fading surfaces reveal the passage of time. I was drawn to the craftsmanship found high above the street—details that have watched generations of people pass beneath them, yet can easily go unnoticed in the rhythm of everyday life. Through layered washes, ink, and touches of unexpected color, I wanted to emphasize both the age and enduring character of the building. The painting is a reminder to look up, slow down, and notice the pieces of history that remain woven into the places we call home.
